New Blue
Blue is a difficult color to get right in CMYK because blue so badly wants to be purple. When selecting colors, we have to limit the amount of magenta in our mix otherwise it will shift to a dull shade of purple when printed. (UVT had this issue when I first started doing work for them and we ended up selecting a different blue for print and for screen) Unfortunately, this means we are limited to blues that are more cyan rather than the true blues we can get when working in RGB. The more we add magenta or black to our mix, cyan gets less vibrant and we start to dull colors.
Below are a few blues that will resist shifting to purple as much as possible while still looking blue. We lose contrast with our dark blue background around #3 and the new blue has to replace the dark blue in the palette.
